Washington, DC – U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer today issued the following statement regarding President Trump signing Presidential Proclamations related to tariffs on imported steel and aluminum:

The President is once again demonstrating he will protect our country, fight for American workers and strictly enforce our trade laws. I will work closely with other Cabinet officials to advise the President on how to implement the program on steel and aluminum that he announced today.”

Following President Trump’s signing of a Presidential Proclamation imposing tariffs on steel and aluminum products from certain countries, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross released the following statement:
